To fulfill
its mission, Casa de Passagem conducts three basic programs
that act in an integrated way. They are: |

Passage
to the Life Program |
 |
|
| |
It
takes care of female children and adolescents
of 7 to 17 years of age. The program follows a
strategic objective - to promote the rights of
citizenship of children and adolescents in high
risk situations. The program seeks to help the
attendees with reorganisation of the identity,
the return to their family, school, community
and the society. |

Community
and Citizenship Program |

 |
|
The
target population for this program is composed
of adolescents, youth and adults (from 13 to 24
years) of both sexes. The program´s strategic
objective is to promote increased participation
in social and political areas by adolescents,
the family and women community leaders, through
participation as citizens. The end goal is the
improvement of the quality of life in affected
communities.

Initiation
to the work Program |

The people involved
in this program are adolescents and
adults of both the sexes, with ages
ranging from 16 to 24 years. These individuals
have usually gone through the Passage
to the Life and the Community and Citizenship
program. The program objective is to
contribute towards the formation of
an individual that has access to citizenship
rights, especially, to the professionalization,
thus making it possible for the individual
to succeed at work in competitive conditions
and facilitate a smooth transistion
to adult life.

Sewing
and Clothing Course |
|

|
|
Our
training courses are financed primarily
by our distinguished sponsors: Comic Relief/Christian
Aid, Wal-Mart Institute, Government of
the State of Pernambuco, Net Coffer, Pharmacy
Roval and Refresco Guararapes. The courses
offered include Telemarketing, Cut and
Sewing, hand-craft, Administrative assistant,
Medical Manipulation, Sales training,
and others. They have the duration of
up to 2 years. This curriculum is supported
by supplementary education in subjects
such as: computer science, knowledge of
human rights, logic, Portuguese, and reading
fluency. |
